I finally received my Speck PixelSkin HD, and my first impressions of it are pretty good. The case doesn’t add too much bulk to the phone, but still provides ample protection. It is made of a slightly flexible plastic with a matte finish on the sides. As far as button coverage, the sleep/wake and volume buttons are completely covered while the ringer switch is exposed (to be expected). The opening for the headphone jack seems to be on the small side, but the dock connector seems open enough to support most chargers.

I was exceedingly happy to find out that Netflix for iPhone was released today, allowing instant streaming of Netflix’s awesome library of TV shows and movies. The app works very well over 3G, providing great quality with very few stops for buffering. Purely in the interest of science, I turned off Wi-Fi to see how much data was required to stream a 43-minute episode of LOST. Turns out, it uses almost 200MB. Better hang on to that unlimited data plan ![]()

I recently discovered 5by5.tv, an internet broadcasting network founded by Dan Benjamin that offers an array of podcasts on tech. The ones I’ve had a chance to listen to thus far are excellent:
The Conversation
A talk show featuring discussions with special guests, the latest tech and development news, and your calls. The show is streamed live every Wednesday at 1:00PM ET, and then released as audio and video podcasts.
The Pipeline
The Pipeline is an interview show, featuring in-depth conversations with innovators, designers, geeks, newsmakers, entrepreneurs, and people who create amazing things.
The Talk Show
The Talk Show features discussion about technology, Apple, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and the web. Recorded live on Wednesdays at 1:00PM ET.

I just finished the first episode of The Talk Show yesterday, which features John Gruber of Daring Fireball as a co-host. If you’re into technology and the web, I definitely recommend that you check out what 5by5.tv has to offer.
